Are vegetarians who eat in vegan restaurants and only finish half their meal unconscionably pretentious?
Posted by: Reamuna Becca / Category: Vegan RestaurantsThey can only consume half of a meal that only has 765 calories and 7 grams of fat. To me that is criminal. People are starving in China and these agenda driven phonies can’t even consume 2000 calories a day, the government guidelines recommended daily minimum requirement.
" People are starving in China"
Utter nonsense. Learn something before spouting off!

No, assholes who worry about how much of their "meal" people eat are inconceivably pretentious.
I fucking HATE it when people use the starving China-men routine.
Ffs man at least go for Africa. The future rulers of the planet really don’t want your fucking leftovers, believe me.
Eat your food, stfu, and be happy you have any. Stop worrying about everyone else.

That is not the daily minimum requirement, that’s an average calorie amount.
765 calories in one meal is huge.
If they ate the whole thing, would the people in China feel better?

Epic trolling fail.
Name these so-called vegetarians who only eat half their meals. Can’t? Didn’t think so, because they don’t exist.
Provide sources for your "People are starving in China" claim. Can’t do that either? Go back to the drawing board.
My partner can rarely finish her meals in restaurants, but she’s not a vegetarian. She just has a small stomach.

China is one of the richest countries in the world now.
And 765 calories is a lot of food for one meal. Especially if it’s all low calorie food to begin with. I mean, one burger and french fries can give you 765 calories, and that could be a meal, but do you know how much tofu and vegetables you would have to eat to get 765 calories? It’s a lot, trust me. Most people’s stomachs aren’t big enough to fit it all in.
And the government may recommend 2000 calories per day, but they also recommend a certain amount of exercise, which most people don’t get. If a person eats 2000 calories a day, but doesn’t get enough exercise they’re still not going to be healthy.
I usually can’t finish a meal in a restaurant, and couldn’t even before I was vegetarian, so it really has nothing to do with my "agenda." You should stop hatin’. Your life might be less stressful if you stopped worrying about what everyone else is doing.

I agree that 765 calories is a huge meal especially when mostly comprised of vegetables.
I often only make it through half a restaurant dinner becuase the portions are way too huge. Most places will happily pack up the excess so I will have lunch the following day.
I consume the 1500 calories per day required for my age, size and weight.

erm, i wouldnt assume so
id think , maybe, they are full, didnt want any more, didnt feel like eating, or soemthing else that anyone of us feel every day
china has problems, so does every country
whats the pointin trying to emotonally blackmail peopel to feel guilty ? to do what you want?
why?
who cares, its their life, why does it bother you so much what others are and are not eating?
maybe you should take some time to ask yourself that

There are people starving all over the world. If the food is already on your plate, there’s not much it can do for people half way across the world. If you’re that concerned, donate time and/or money to charities to help feed the hungry.

there is plenty of food for the whole world. the only reason there is starvation is because of political issues and uneven and unfair distribution.
starvation is caused by poverty not lack_of_suppy.
greed.
do you need anything else broken down for u to understand?

People who judge total strangers based on how many calories they consume are unconscionably pretentious.

Not really. Me overeating doesn’t randomly give someone else food, and me stopping when I’m full doesn’t mean that I’m actively taking food away. Also, you do realize that most people eat more than one meal a day, right?
If you’re concerned about the distribution of resources, eat as low on the food chain as possible, always choose local, and prepare your own meals (and only what you will use). While it won’t have a direct impact on whether or not food is sent to China or not, you will rest easier knowing that you are cutting down on waste.
